Colorado site exposes 133,000 confidential voter profiles

A software update to the Colorado Secretary of State’s Find My Voter Registration tool briefly disabled protections, exposing confidential voter profiles for up to about 11 days and affecting tens of thousands of records, with at least 59 voters’ information accessed. Secretary of State Jena Griswold apologized, said affected voters were contacted, and announced additional safeguards, automated QA, and testing protocols to prevent future breaches as reports from multiple outlets converge on the incident.
