Hobbs Names Giles to Joint Ticket

Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs has tapped former Mesa mayor John Giles, now an independent after decades as a Republican, to be her running mate in the 2026 election, signaling a bipartisan bid to appeal to Republicans and conservative independents. Giles has positioned himself as a centrist who has criticized the GOP and supported Democrats, including Harris, as Hobbs faces a competitive race against Republican Andy Biggs.
