About Rubik's Cube

El cubo de Rubik es un rompecabezas de combinación en 3D inventado en 1974 por el escultor húngaro y profesor de arquitectura Ernő Rubik. Originalmente llamado el Cubo Mágico, el rompecabezas fue licenciado por Rubik para ser vendido por Pentangle Puzzles en el Reino Unido en 1978, y luego por Ideal Toy Corp en 1980 a través del empresario Tibor Laczi y el fundador de Seven Towns Tom Kremer. El cubo fue lanzado internacionalmente en 1980 y se convirtió en uno de los iconos más reconocidos de la cultura popular. Ganó el premio especial German Game of the Year de 1980 al Mejor Rompecabezas.
