An Illinois Muslim group scrubbed a Monday video panel featuring an Islamic quote about killing Jews after the Daily Caller News Foundation reached out.
Veteran activists and ex-inmates Dhoruba bin Wahad, Jalil Muntaqim and Jihad Abdulmumit discussed how to navigate “extreme and revolutionary times” with anti-prison organization Believers Bail Out (BBO). Bin Wahad claimed their “struggle would be typified by” an Islamic passage containing a violent prophecy.
“Every living thing in the [Muslim holy city] and in Western Asia would speak out … every bush, every tree would say that there’s a Jew behind me — slay him,” Bin Wahad said in BBO’s video recording, paraphrasing the text. The terrorist group Hamas also quoted the passage in its 1988 founding charter.

BBO, based in Chicago, did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s requests for comment about Bin Wahad’s remarks but made the YouTube video private on Tuesday.
The group has bailed out 40 people from pretrial detention and nine from immigration detention over the past year, a BBO event host said. Defending Rights and Dissent, the left-leaning group that fiscally sponsors BBO, did not respond to multiple requests for comment.
A sign language interpreter for BBO is seen in the video pausing after Bin Wahad’s quote about Jews, frowning and gently shaking her head while continuing her hand gestures.
“This was written in a way to highlight what we’re talking about, what would come to pass,” Bin Wahad said about the text. “And I think this is what’s coming to pass now, where we have the European settler state of Israel dragging the U.S. into the third world war on its behalf. And of course, this settler state is going to be wiped out in the process.”
Bin Wahad was charged in 1971 with the attempted murder of two police officers but later had his conviction overturned after a court determined he was targeted by legally fraught FBI operations. Muntaqim, meanwhile, spent nearly fifty years behind bars for killing two police officers in 1971, and Abdulmumit served 23 years for robberies which he called “bank expropriations” during the same decade.
“The United States is a slave nation,” Muntaqim told his audience. “The United States have never not been a slave nation. Since 1865, when they ended chattel slavery of African people, right? On the same ink, on the same paper, at the same time, they established penal slavery.”
Leftist revolutionaries may not overcome their oppressors “militarily,” but “we will defend ourselves against the aggression,” the convicted cop killer said. A massive labor strike is the proper tactic to “shut this country down,” he argued.
Muntaqim and the other speakers are living proof that former prisoners can make some of the most useful radicals, he told BBO’s viewers, quoting the words of a late Vietnamese communist dictator.
“As Ho Chi Minh once stated, ‘when the prison doors are open, the real dragons will fly out,’ and you see some of them on board right here,” Muntaqim said.
