Republican Texas Attorney General candidate Aaron Reitz has raked in a hefty fundraising haul, the Daily Caller News Foundation has learned.

Reitz has raised more than $2,000,000 since he launched his campaign for Texas attorney general on June 12, his campaign told the DCNF. Moreover, Reitz has received contributions from over 220 individuals, according to his campaign.

“Patriots are rallying to our flag,” Reitz said in a statement shared with the DCNF. “For a non-incumbent, non-officeholder to draw this level of support on such a short timeline simply doesn’t happen in Texas. The enthusiasm for my candidacy is a testament to Texans’ confidence that I am, as President [Donald] Trump said when he brought me into the Justice Department, a ‘true MAGA attorney’ and ‘warrior for our Constitution.’ It’s easy to raise money when you wield a committee gavel, bankroll your own race with family money, or have a two-and-a-half month head-start before the end of the quarter. I, on the other hand, raised over $2 million in 18 days, starting with $0 and without the benefit of incumbency.”

Reitz recently served as the assistant attorney general for the Department of Justice’s Office of Legal Policy, and previously served as the chief of staff to Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, and as the deputy attorney general for legal strategy under Republican Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, according to his bio. He also served five years in the U.S. Marine Corps, according to his campaign website.

Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel has expressed words of support for Reitz, referring to him as a “personal friend, great American, and a relentless advocate for law and order” in a June 11 X post.

“We are in a battle for the soul of Texas,” Reitz added. “I have spent my entire career fighting in the trenches—all over Texas, in the state and national capitals, and even overseas in Afghanistan. As a Marine, I was trained to never rest until the job is done and battle is won. So to make it abundantly clear: this fundraising haul is just the beginning. The best is yet to come. We must defend Texas from those who seek to tear it down, and I look forward to barnstorming the state in the coming months spreading our message of Law, Order, Justice, and Liberty in Texas. I am ready, willing and able to be the reinforcements against the radical left’s lawfare we need as your Attorney General.”

Paxton wrote in a June 13 post to X that he was “excited” for Reitz’s bid for Texas attorney general. Additionally, Trump has previously referred to Reitz as a “true MAGA attorney.”

Other candidates in Texas’ 2026 attorney general race include Republican State Sens. Mayes Middleton and Joan Huffman.
