Fallon Adds Eric Trump to Punchline in Trump’s Bond Trouble

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - NOVEMBER 03: Eric Trump, executive vice president of Trump Organization Inc., leaves former President Donald Trump's civil fraud trial where he testified at New York State Supreme Court on November 03, 2023 in New York City. Trump began testifying yesterday concerning allegations that he; his father, the former president Donald Trump; and his brother Donald Trump Jr. conspired to inflate Trump Sr.'s net worth on financial statements provided to banks and insurers to secure loans. Late night talk show host Jimmy Fallon knew just what to say when word got out of former President Donald Trump’s trouble securing a bond to appeal his civil fraud conviction.

On Monday Trump’s lawyers said it was a “practical impossibility” for him to get the $464 million bond needed to stop New York Attorney General Letitia James from collecting while he appeals the case.

In 2022, James sued Trump and accused the Trump Organization of fraud by inflating its assets to gain better terms from insurers and lenders.

“In his defense, how is a billionaire ever supposed to come up with half a billion dollars, you know? Come on, do the math,” Fallon said on “The Tonight Show,” per the HuffPost.

Fallon then joked about how much money Trump has.

“Trump handed over everything he has, and the judge was like, ‘I’m still gonna need the other $463 million,’” Fallon said.

Then, things turned personal as Fallon added Trump’s son Eric Trump to the punchline.

“Yep, Trump is pretty desperate for the money right now. If you go on Airbnb, you can rent Trump Tower, Mar-a-Lago and Eric.”
