The family of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins filed a lawsuit against actor Alec Baldwin and others who they say are responsible for her death.

Hutchins was killed after Baldwin fired a prop gun on the set of his movie “Rust” in October.

Hutchins’ family attorney Brian Panish said during a press conference, “Today, we filed a wrongful death case on their behalf.”

He continued, “In the lawsuit, as you can see, names Alec Baldwin and others who are responsible for the safety on the set and whose reckless behavior and cost-cutting led to the senseless and tragic death of Halyna Hutchins.”

Others have filed lawsuits following the shooting, including a medic who worked on the set of the movie, as IJR reported.

Earlier this month, Cherlyn Schaefer filed a 29-page complaint, accusing nine defendants of negligence, including assistant director, David Halls, armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed, Rust Movie Productions, and Bonanza Creek Ranch, the location of the movie.

According to Schaefer, she suffered “tremendous shock, trauma and severe emotional distress” during the event, affecting “all aspects of her life and has medically prevented her from returning to her chosen profession.”

Additionally, armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed filed a lawsuit against prop distributor Seth Kenney.

During an interview with ABC News in December, Baldwin said he is not responsible for Hutchins’ death.

“Someone put a live bullet in a gun, a bullet that wasn’t even supposed to be on the property,” Baldwin said.

He added, “Someone is responsible for what happened, and I can’t say who that is, but I know it’s not me.”

Baldwin told Stephanopoulos he would “never point a gun at anyone and pull a trigger at them.”

On February 8, Baldwin posted a video to Instagram sharing his experience going back to work, as IJR reported.

“What is acting or any of this nonsense that I’ve ended up doing? It’s strange to go back to work,” Baldwin said.
