Family Ups Reward in Guthrie Case

TUCSON, ARIZONA - FEBRUARY 24: Lauren Sepa places a sign directed to the kidnapper in a memorial set up next to the driveway leading to the home of Nancy Guthrie on February 24, 2026, in Tucson, Arizona. Law enforcement officials continue to search for Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of U.S. journalist and television host Savannah Guthrie, after she went missing from her home on the morning of February 1st. Nancy Guthrie’s family is now offering a reward of up to $1 million for the recovery of her mother.

NBC’s Savannah Guthrie made the announcement in an Instagram video Tuesday morning, per Fox News.

Nancy Guthrie, 84, is believed to have been abducted from her Tucson home on Feb. 1.

The family is also donating $500,000 to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to support other families, Savannah Guthrie said.

“Please keep praying without ceasing,” Guthrie said in the video. “We still believe, we still believe in a miracle. We still believe that she can come home. Hope begets hope. As my sister says, we are blowing on the embers of hope.”

She acknowledged the outcome may not be what the hope.

“We also know she may be lost,” Savannah Guthrie said. “She may already be gone. She may have already gone home to the Lord that she lives, and is dancing in heaven, with her mom and her dad and with her beloved brother Pierce — and with our daddy.”

In her post, she urged anyone with information to dial 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324).

“You can remain anonymous — or find a way to reach out to me,” she said.

The reward can be split if multiple people provide valid leads. The family had been advised not to offer it sooner to avoid overwhelming investigators, who have already received 10s of thousands of calls.

The decision to offer the reward came after consultating with law enforcement.

Nancy Guthrie was last seen on Jan. 31 after going to dinner at the home of her other daughter, Annie. The next day, she failed to meet friends for church, prompting the family to check on her. The family called 911 to report her missing around noon.

Police have not publicly identified a suspect or any persons of interest. A video emerged earlier this month, showing a masked intruder on Guthrie’s front steps.
