Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) reported he has made a “full recovery” after a fall on Thursday that sent him to the hospital.
According to a report on Mediaite, the lawmaker posted an update on his condition — including a photo of his bruised face — on X Saturday.
“20 stitches later and a full recovery, I’m back home with
and the kids,” Fetterman wrote.
“I’m overwhelmed + profoundly grateful for all the well-wishes. Truly,” he added.
He also expressed his gratitude to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center for its treatment of him.
“Grateful for
for the incredible medical care that put me back together,” he wrote.
“THANK YOU SO MUCH. See you back in DC,” he added.
The photo shows Fetterman with an iced coffee and a bruised face.
Fetterman fell Thursday while walking near his home in Braddock, Pennsylvania.
According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, Fetterman suffered from ventricular fibrillation, a condition that is the “most severe form of arrhythmia and a common cause of cardiac death.”
This is not the first time Fetterman’s health has been a concern.
He suffered a stroke during the 2022 senatorial race.
In his new book, “Unfettered,” Fetterman said he was “suicidal” and had severe depression after what he referred to as a “disaster” of a debate against his opponent, Dr. Mehmet Oz.
“For months [after the debate], I was suicidal. Paranoid. Not eating. Not sleeping. Not speaking. Not functioning. Resigned. Ashamed. Despairing,” Fetterman said. “Despairing everywhere I was. Up was down, and down was up.”
