Sherrone Moore, the recently fired University of Michigan head football coach, was arrested on Wednesday following allegations of assault and months-long stalking, a shocking turn for the once-celebrated $6 million-per-year coach.
According to the New York Post, a 911 call obtained by TMZ reveals a university employee reporting that Moore had allegedly been stalking her for months before allegedly attacking her.
The call, made from the address of an executive assistant to the head coach, came just hours before the university terminated Moore “with cause” over what officials described as an “inappropriate relationship” with a staff member who has not been publicly identified.
Of the 17-second audio, five seconds were censored to protect the caller’s identity. Moore, 39, is currently in Washtenaw County Jail, reportedly in protective custody and under the supervision of mental health professionals, according to University of Michigan instructor John Bacon.
The scandal has prompted a wider public examination of Moore’s social media activity. Mia Sorety, a fitness influencer and OnlyFans creator, revealed that Moore had sent her flirty messages.
Sorety tweeted, “I wasn’t surprised he was all in my DMs trying to risk it all with an OF model,” adding that he follows dozens of other OnlyFans models and young women on Instagram.
Social media users highlighted Moore’s Instagram activity, noting that he follows numerous college students, models, and female reporters.
“Look at Cherrone Moore’s following list on Instagram. The dude follows hundreds of college girls, OnlyFans models, & female reporters/anchors. It’s crazy & obvious the dude is a cheater,” one user wrote.
Moore’s controversial public life extends beyond social media. He attended a high-profile Kentucky Derby party hosted by Sean “Diddy” Combs in 2018, tweeting about the VIP festivities in Louisville.
The party, held at the Louisville Palace hotel, featured themed rooms, craft cocktails, and a private concert by Diddy.
Before his arrest and firing, Moore, a married father of three, had reportedly been “acting strange,” according to ESPN.
His arrest by Pittsfield Township police came shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday, marking a dramatic downfall for a coach once seen as a rising star in college football.
As the investigation unfolds, Moore faces both legal scrutiny and a public reckoning over his personal conduct and professional behavior at the University of Michigan.
