A Florida roofing company is offering customers a Thanksgiving deal when they purchase a new roof.

Roof EZ, located in Cape Coral, announced in a Facebook post that they would be offering customers an AR-15 and a turkey for every roof sold. The Thanksgiving giveaway is a partnership between Shoot Center and the roofing company.

“The turkey will get you all sitting at the table so you can spend time together,” Jason Polly, the President of Roof Ez told Local10 News. “The roof will protect your home and the AR-15 will protect your family.”

Polly explained to the outlet how he was inspired by a company in Alabama that had advertised this idea.

“I figured, hey, we’re in Florida. This is the most Florida thing you can do,” Polly said. “Let’s do it.”

Those who are interested in taking part in this offer will be purchasing an “AR-15 the same as anybody else would,” Cameron Acorn, the general manager of Shoot Center explained in Roof EZ’s video.

Acorn explained that people have to be either 21 or older and be able to pass a background check. After passing the background check, customers can pick up their guns three days later.

“The world’s a crazy place right now and they can get a roof and an AR-15 for protection on both ends, why not?” Polly added.

Those who do not wish to have an AR-15 will receive a $500 deductible from their roofing purchase, Polly informed the outlet.

Other companies have tried similar marketing promotions. In 2019, a Ford dealership in South Carolina gave customers guns, Bibles, and flags with each purchase of a vehicle. Similarly, in 2018, a Wisconsin company that made novelty bullet-themed glassware gave their employees a gun of their choosing.
