Florida Ron DeSantis (R) was eulogizing wrestling legend Hulk Hogan when a heckler interrupted the moment by going on a tirade about immigration.
The incident happened during a news conference Thursday in Bradenton, per Fox News.
Hogan died earlier Thursday at his home in Clearwater.
The heckler, a man, was in the back of the room when he jumped out of his seat and yelled, “Alligator Alcatraz — is that your f—ing legacy?”
DeSantis was a mere three minutes into his speech.
As authorities swooped in to handle the man, DeSantis paused then spoke directly to him.
“Hey, stop, stop! Stop! Get out of here! Get outta here!” DeSantis said to the unidentified man.
The governor was reminiscing about watching Hogan wrestle André the Giant at WrestleMania III when the interruption occurred.
“I remember WrestleMania III. He was up …,” DeSantis said before the heckler interrupted.
The governor pledged $245 million to Alligator Alcatraz, which is an immigration detention center in the Florida Everglades.
DeSantis spoke about how saddened he was to hear of Hogan’s passing.
“I was sad to see the news that Hulk Hogan passed away today. He was a major icon for anybody in Gen X,” DeSantis said.
“You know, back then, when they would do these big events like WrestleMania, you could go to it … they didn’t even have pay-per-view. … It was closed-circuit,” DeSantis continued.
