President Donald Trump‘s personal lawyer and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has tested positive for COVID-19.
In a tweet on Sunday afternoon, Trump wrote, “[Rudy Giuliani], by far the greatest mayor in the history of NYC, and who has been working tirelessly exposing the most corrupt election (by far!) in the history of the USA, has tested positive for the China Virus. “
He added, “Get better soon Rudy, we will carry on!!!”

Giuliani, 76, is the latest in Trump’s circle who has tested positive for the virus. His age would put him at a higher risk for severe complications from the virus.
In November, Giuliani’s son and spokesperson both tested positive for the coronavirus.
Giuliani did not quarantine after his son or spokesperson tested positive for the virus. Instead, he has been traveling around the country to attend hearings on voter fraud in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Arizona.
He has been at the forefront of Trump’s re-election campaign’s effort to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
During a press conference in November, Giuliani made the baseless allegation that there was a centralized effort to swing the election in President-elect Joe Biden‘s favor.
However, he has not produced evidence to support his claim.
