SiriusXM host Megyn Kelly and guests from the “Ruthless” podcast couldn’t stop laughing Thursday after watching videos from liberal media hosts, including Joy Reid and Don Lemon, explaining why they’ve decided to leave X (formerly known as Twitter).
Both Reid and Lemon announced their departure from the social media platform on Wednesday, owned by billionaire Elon Musk, with Reid posting a video explanation on TikTok. Lemon shared his on Instagram. On “The Megyn Kelly Show,” Kelly played the two videos as she laughed at the hosts’ reasons for leaving the site.
“The name of Joy Reid on X is what she’s referring to. She’s peace’d out from X, guys. This makes me thrilled. Goodbye, we won’t miss you. Take care,” Kelly said before continuing to play Lemon’s video.
“He wants us to believe it’s because of the forum selection clause in the new terms, as opposed to the fact that everyone hates him. And she’s [Joy Reid] only been there, guys, because she didn’t want someone to seize her name and misuse — OK, sure. I mean, these people, this is a rash. It’s a rash of Twitter exits,” Kelly added.
Kelly went on to list more celebrities who have also exited the platform before claiming she believes Reid will be back on the site soon due to the number of followers she has.

“Jamie Lee Curtis quit. Bette Midler deleted her account. The Guardian, you know, the paper left X. It’s been absolutely delightful to see them run,” Kelly said. “They just want attention. And you know what else? They’ll be back because Joy Reid can’t stand to lose her 1.9 million.”
“I look at this, I think these people wouldn’t last one day living the way right-leaning people live in this country, right? Where everything around you is controlled by the other side. The messages are uniformly against your worldview,” Kelly said. “The messages your kids get at school, the ads you see while riding the bus, the advertisements for the new movies on Netflix, the papers that arrive at your house, the cable news anchors, the debate hosts, the sports arenas, everything is against you. They wouldn’t last one day living in our shoes.”
Democrats’ departure from X comes just over a week after President-elect Donald Trump won both the Electoral College and popular vote. Since Musk purchased the platform in October 2022, some Democratic lawmakers have voiced their objections to the site, with The Guardian recently announcing it would leave, saying Musk has turned it into a “toxic media platform” where “racism” and “conspiracy theories” are allowed.
