Rep. Brandon Gill (R-Texas) has brought a new idea to the table to keep illegal immigrants from coming to the U.S. and penalizing the companies that hire them.

Gill introduced the New Illegal Deduction Elimination Act, called the “New IDEA Act,” on Wednesday. The goal of the act is to get rid of the financial incentives that bring illegal immigrants and entice them to stay, The Daily Wire exclusively reported.

It would also go after companies that hire the illegal immigrants in addition to requiring the IRS and Social Security Administration to disseminate information with the Department of Homeland Security.

“It’s time to dismantle the jobs magnet driving illegal immigration and ensure that unscrupulous employers do not benefit from hiring illegal aliens over American citizens. We shouldn’t be doling out American jobs to illegal aliens from foreign nations,” Gill said. “My legislation promotes a thriving economy and encourages E-verify use so law-abiding Americans can make an honest living, earn benefits, and run successful businesses that serve their communities.”

The legislation would stop companies from deducting wages and benefits paid to illegal immigrants who are employed ahead of U.S. citizens.

The bill promotes the use of E-Verify, which employers can use to find out it applicants are legal. This is a free service provided by the Department of Homeland Security.

According to the Federation for American Immigration Reform, there are about 18.6 million illegal immigrants in the U.S.

The bill fits in with President Donald Trump’s agenda by seeking out companies that hire illegal immigrants.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has raided businesses and DHS agents arrested business owners in Texas for employing illegal immigrants.
