Holy grail of American politics is within the grasp of Republicans — control of the White House, Senate and House of Representatives.
The news comes as Republicans are projected to retain control of the House, The Hill reported.
On Monday, Decision Desk HQ projected Republicans would win its 218th seat, the number needed for a majority in the lower chamber.
Trump praised Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) in his victory speech from Wednesday.
“It also looks like we’ll be keeping control of the House of Representatives. And I want to thank Mike Johnson. I think he’s doing a terrific job,” Trump said.
Reps. Anthony D’Esposito, Marc Molinaro and Brandon Williams, all Republicans representing districts in New York, lost their reelection bids. So did Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer (R-Ore.).
Top House Republicans and Senate Republicans have been working together on legislative proposals they can send to Trump in the first 100 days the Republicans are in control.
Those include extending the tax cuts, increasing border wall funding, repealing climate initiatives and promoting school choice.
