Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) is telling former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick to “look in the mirror.”
The former NFL player took to Twitter on Saturday, where he alleged that there “is nothing new about American terrorist attacks against Black and Brown people for the expansion of American imperialism.”
Kaepernick — who sparked controversy after he knelt during the national anthem in the 2016 season in protest of police brutality and racial inequality — added in another tweet:
“America has always sanctioned and besieged Black and Brown bodies both at home and abroad. America militarism is the weapon wielded by American imperialism, to enforce its policing and plundering of the non white world.”
Kaepernick’s comments come shortly after a U.S. airstrike in Baghdad at the end of last week, which resulted in Iranian top commander Qassem Soleimani’s death.

During a Fox News “Sunday Morning Futures” interview, Graham slammed Kaepernick as “a loser on and off the field,” who “has no idea what the Iranian regime has done to the region.”
“He has no idea they have 600 American deaths as a result of IEDs made in Iran, used in Iraq,” Graham added. “It is un-American. He’s a racist.”
The Republican senator continued to claim that Kaepernick is “blinded” by the disapproval of President Donald Trump:
“If you are looking for racism in America, Mr. Kaepernick, look in the mirror. Your country is not the problem, it’s the Iranians, and you’re so blinded by your hatred of Trump that you can’t see the difference between who we are and who the Ayatollah is. Pretty sad.”

As IJR previously reported, Kaepernick’s comments didn’t sit well with some.
Megyn Kelly was among those who blasted the former NFL player, as she tweeted, “Because everything is racist. Everything. Even fighting back against terrorists who kill Americans. Nike, feeling proud?”
