The Great American Family (GAC) network’s viewership is up and has experienced the fastest growth for 11 consecutive months.

According to an Oct. 4 press release, GAC “ranked #1 in both Total Day Household ratings (+185%) and Total Viewers (+193%) vs. September 2022.”
Year-to-date, it’s the “fastest-growing network on TV in Total Day Households (+161%) and Total Viewers (+166%).”
When describing the company’s growth and viewership to Variety on Wednesday, GAC CEO Bill Abbott noted the need for “family-friendly” content and how catering to that need “is essential to our success.”
“It’s about telling great stories that inspire, and that people can watch together with their families and will watch together as part of their faith communities or join a book club or do anything that really is considered to be in that faith-and-family genre.”
On Oct. 10, GAC released a statement that promises to deliver increased faith and living content by rebranding its second outlet as well. Great American Living is now being transformed into Great American Faith & Living.
Abbott noted in the release, “Given the enormously positive reaction from subscribers to Great American Pure Flix and the ongoing growth of Great American Family, now is the perfect time to sharpen our focus on our second linear channel.”
“Great American Faith & Living fills a void in the marketplace, and we are confident viewers will enjoy a strong mix of content that brings the highest quality faith programming in the genre,” he added.
Before rebranding, Abbott offered an optimistic view of this endeavor, noting, “Faith movies have been among the top-rated content on Great American Family, and we feel strongly that the faith category is big enough to have a channel fully dedicated to the genre.”
“We are committed to listening to our viewers and are dedicated to creating quality faith and family content that inspires and uplifts,” he concluded.
