Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) came out swinging at the Trump administration during the first and only vice-presidential debate ahead of the 2020 presidential election.
Harris and Vice President Mike Pence pushed back and forth against each other right out of the gate of the debate.
The debate started off with the conversation surrounding the coronavirus pandemic and Harris took aim directly at President Donald Trump’s response as she called it the “greatest failure of any presidential administration.”
“The American people have witnessed what is the greatest failure of any presidential administration in the history of our country,” Harris said.
She continued to note the death toll due to the virus in the U.S. which is at more than 211,000, and there are over 7.5 million cases reported, as of Wednesday night. Additionally, she noted the unemployment rate amid the pandemic.
Harris also blasted the Trump administration for “[minimizing] the seriousness” of COVID-19. She then claimed that the Trump administration does not have an adequate “plan” to handle the pandemic, adding, “Well Joe Biden does.”
