Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Kamala Harris found herself laughing this week during an interview when asked if she brings a “socialist or progressive perspective” to the presidential ticket.
Harris said, “I will always share with [Democratic nominee Joe Biden] my lived experience as it relates to any issue that we confront. And I promised Joe that I will give him that perspective and always be honest with him.”
Asked if that is a “socialist or progressive perspective,” Harris laughed and said “No… no, it is the perspective of a woman who grew up a black child in America, who was also a prosecutor, who also has a mother who arrived here at the age of 19 from India, who also, you know, likes hip hop. What do you wanna know?”

President Donald Trump has continuously blasted his Democratic opponents as out-of-control socialists. During his speech at the Republican National Convention, Trump claimed that Biden is “a Trojan horse for socialism.”
The president added, “If Joe Biden doesn’t have the strength to stand up to wild-eyed Marxists like Bernie Sanders and his fellow radicals, then how is he ever going to stand up for you?”
On Twitter, the president has said that the Democrats want a “socialist nation.”

After Trump accused Biden of having a socialist agenda during the presidential debate on Oct. 22, Biden shot back, “He’s a very confused guy. He thinks he’s running against somebody else. He’s running against Joe Biden. I beat all those other people because I disagreed with them. Joe Biden, he’s running against.”
Over the summer, Biden defended himself from Trump’s attacks that the longtime politician is a socialist, saying, “You know me, you know my heart. You know my story, my family’s story. Ask yourself, do I look like a radical socialist with a soft spot for rioters? Really?”
