“We did it. We did it, Joe,” Kamala Harris, Joe Biden’s running mate, said to the former vice president over the phone after he was declared the winner of the 2020 presidential election.
Harris shared a video of her phone call with Biden after the election was called, delivering the duo a victory over President Donald Trump.
“You’re going to be the next president of the United States,” Harris said to Biden.
Harris is making history as she will be the first woman and woman of color vice president.

Biden came out with over the 270 needed Electoral College votes to win the presidency on Saturday.
He said in a statement in response to the victory, “I am honored and humbled by the trust the American people have placed in me and in Vice President-elect Harris. In the face of unprecedented obstacles, a record number of Americans voted. Proving once again, that democracy beats deep in the heart of America.”
However, Trump is appearing not to accept Biden’s victory as he said in a statement himself, “We all know why Joe Biden is rushing to falsely pose as the winner, and why his media allies are trying so hard to help him: they don’t want the truth to be exposed. The simple fact is this election is far from over.”
He added, “Beginning Monday, our campaign will start prosecuting our case in court to ensure election laws are fully upheld and the rightful winner is seated.”
The U.S. presidential inauguration will be held on January 20, 2021.
