Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is wanting everyone to be able to hear what she has to say at any time, as she is reportedly getting ready to launch a podcast.
The 2016 Democratic presidential nominee is looking to take what she has to say to a podcast, according to Politico. It is set to launch late spring.
This comes at a time that several Democrats are vying for the party’s nomination in hopes to take on President Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election.
As for how she will run the podcast — which iHeartMedia will co-produced — Clinton was reportedly intrigued with how late-night host Conan O’Brien ran his audio show, after she appeared on an hourlong show back in December.
A person who is close with Clinton told Politico, “Conan just exudes enthusiasm about this platform and he does these interviews that are really evergreen and the idea with her, in part inspired by that experience, is to do the same thing.”
The source also noted that Clinton “wants to try to have a wider-ranging conversation that will be lasting, so you can listen to it in a year or you can listen to it tomorrow and it will be interesting.”
“And then, of course, she’ll do some ranting and raving about news of the day,” the person added.
Additionally, Howard Stern reportedly inspired how Clinton wants to style her upcoming audio show.
As Politico reports:
“Her team is experimenting with using a Stern-inspired ensemble plucked from the larger universe of Hillaryland to help loosen her up, keep the show conversational, and discuss the day’s news, perhaps at the top or bottom of the show.”
The person close to the former secretary of state told Politico, “Stern has a cast of characters. So could you have some people on the show in her orbit who are interesting but not necessarily guest-worthy? And then hopefully there’s some irreverence involved.”
Clinton wants the show to align with her latest book “The Book of Gutsy Women,” saying it will be “a meeting of the minds with people of grit and determination.”
Aside from the audio show, Clinton will have a four-part documentary released through Hulu in March.
