Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton wants a public hearing in the House investigation into Jeffrey Epstein.
She also blasted Republicans who she said have “ignored” previous testimony from her and former President Bill Clinton, per NewsNation.
“For six months, we engaged Republicans on the Oversight Committee in good faith. We told them what we know, under oath. They ignored all of it. They moved the goalposts and turned accountability into an exercise in distraction,” she wrote on X Thursday.
“So let’s stop the games. If you want this fight … let’s have it—in public,” she wrote, addressing Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), chair of the House Oversight Committee.
Using Comer’s frequent calls for transparency, she added, “There’s nothing more transparent than a public hearing, cameras on. We will be there.”
Earlier this week, the Clintons agreed to testify before the committee after there were threats to hold the couple in contempt of Congress.
For months, the couple resisted subpoenas from the committee regarding the investigation into Epstein, a convicted sex offender.
“Every person has to decide when they have seen or had enough and are ready to fight for this country, its principles and its people, no matter the consequences,” the Clintons wrote in an eight-page letter obtained by the New York Times in January, where they explained their resistance. “For us, now is that time.”
Bill Clinton’s name appears in the Epstein files as does President Donald Trump and Bill Gates.
Even though a person’s name appears in the files, it does not mean they committed any crimes.
Bill Clinton and Trump were recorded on flight logs as having flown on Epstein’s private jet. Both deny visiting the private island where Epstein trafficked underage girls.
Court documents show Epstein stated Bill Clinton had not been to his island. This was corroborated by Epstein’s girlfriend and longtime accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell when she spoke with the Department of Justice.
Hillary Clinton is scheduled to testify Feb. 26; Bill Clinton on Feb. 27.
