The death of wrestling icon Hulk Hogan has taken a dramatic turn as his widow, Sky Daily, revealed she is considering filing a medical malpractice lawsuit tied to a neck surgery he underwent just months before he passed away.

Daily, 46, says she believes the surgery may have damaged Hogan’s phrenic nerve, a key nerve that controls breathing. Speaking in an exclusive interview, she explained that Hogan had struggled with shortness of breath in the months leading up to his death on July 24. “We are investigating for possible malpractice,” she said. “If you have shortness of breath for a long time, that makes you very sick… It’s something that wears on you, makes you weak.” Asked if this condition could have contributed to his death, she replied firmly: “Definitely.”

Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, died at his $8 million waterfront home in Clearwater Beach, Florida. The official cause of death was listed as a heart attack, with a history of atrial fibrillation and leukemia also noted. But Sky Daily says questions remain, and she has been gathering medical records and consulting with lawyers as part of a growing investigation.

The claim first surfaced when an occupational therapist present at Hogan’s home allegedly told police that the surgery had “severed” the nerve. Sky disputed that description, saying it was not fully severed but “compromised.” The therapist, identified as 54-year-old Justin McCamey, has reportedly spoken with police. However, since his comments became public, he has avoided further interviews and even denied his identity when approached at his home.

Sky confirmed that Hogan’s body has remained at a funeral home for nearly five weeks while the investigation continues. She says the family plans to proceed with cremation after all medical reviews are complete. “It’s very time-consuming to call, send in records requests, and get approvals,” she explained. “We’re currently in the investigatory process for possible malpractice.”

At the same time, Hogan’s daughter Brooke has fueled speculation of her own, sharing on social media that she has received calls from people urging her to push for access to 911 tapes and body camera footage. Brooke, 37, said she was told the recordings could reveal details that change the public understanding of her father’s final moments.

This week, Brooke was photographed visiting the funeral home where her father’s body is being held. She reportedly insisted on seeing him in person to confirm both the autopsy and that cremation had not yet taken place. Afterward, she met with police detectives for two hours. She later described the viewing as “very helpful” and said it allowed her to finally say goodbye.

Despite earlier tension, Sky said Brooke reached out with a kind message, saying she had “never had a problem” with her and appreciated Sky’s children. Brooke herself later told radio host Bubba the Love Sponge that her father “looked like he was ready to go on TV,” adding that she prayed over him and felt peace after the visit.

As the family navigates grief, the looming malpractice investigation adds another layer of tension. Sky insists she is not rushing to judgment but wants the full truth about Hogan’s care in the months before his death. Clearwater police, she added, have been “very respectful and thorough,” reviewing medical records, prescriptions, and home security footage.

The official record says Hulk Hogan died of natural causes. But with a widow pursuing legal action, a daughter demanding answers, and conflicting reports about his final months, the story of Hogan’s passing is far from over.
