The House has passed a bill that could lead to the wildly popular app TikTok being banned in the U.S.
On Wednesday, the House voted 352-65-1 in favor of the bill.
Fifteen Republicans voted against in, and 50 Democrats also voted no.

The bipartisan bill, which The Wall Street Journal reported “blindsided” TikTok executives when it was unveiled roughly a week ago, would force the app’s China-based parent company ByteDance to sell the app, or suffer a ban in the U.S.
While the bill passed with comfortable margins in the House, Axios notes there is not yet a companion bill in the Senate.
President Joe Biden has said he would sign the bill if it makes it to his desk.
However, the bill is not without its detractors. Even former President Donald Trump, who tried to force a sale while he was in office, came out against the bill, warning it would “double” Facebook’s business.
