Former President Joe Biden lost the presidential race in 2024 because he was abandoned by his own party.
That is according to Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, who spoke with Jaime Harrison, the former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, on his new podcast, “At Our Table.”
“We lost the last election because we did not remain loyal to the leader of the party,” Hunter Biden said, per a report in The Washington Post.
“That’s my position. We had the advantage of incumbency, we had the advantage of an incredibly successful administration, and the Democratic Party literally melted down,” Joe Biden’s son added.
Harrison’s podcast will debut Thursday. Parts of his interview with Hunter Biden were released Wednesday morning in anticipation of the podcast’s debut.
The president pardoned Hunter Biden in the waning hours of his presidency. Hunter Biden was found guilty of gun-related charges in Delaware; he pleaded guilty to tax evasion in California.
The former president, now 82, was running for reelection when a disastrous debate against the then-Republican Donald Trump, along with the vanishing support from fellow Democrats, forced him to drop out of the race.
Then-Vice President Kamala Harris became the Democratic candidate in July and lost to Trump in November.
Several books have been released, suggesting there was a coverup at play regarding Joe Biden’s declining health.
Hunter Biden said that was not true.
“What sells, Jaime? What sells is the idea of a conspiracy,” he said. The “ability to keep a secret in Washington is zero.”
He added Joe Biden lived in a “fish bowl” that would make it difficult to conceal any issue he had.
“Every single day, hundreds of people and you can’t get one of them to go on the record and say, ‘I saw the president do X?’” Hunter Biden said.
