On Tuesday, February 18, Trump posted on Truth Social, declaring, “Crooked Elections cannot be allowed in the U.S.A.” The post amplified a clip from former FBI deputy director Dan Bongino’s podcast featuring John Solomon, founder of the pro-Trump outlet Just the News.
During the interview, Solomon discussed the SAVE America Act, a high-priority Republican-backed bill that passed the U.S. House of Representatives on February 11. The legislation, described as an enhanced version of the earlier SAVE Act, would establish stricter national standards for voter eligibility in federal elections.
Supporters argue the measure is designed to safeguard election integrity and prevent fraud. Critics contend the new requirements could make voting more difficult for certain groups and disproportionately impact Democratic-leaning voters ahead of November’s midterms.
“I think Donald Trump is going to change the narrative in America,” Solomon said during the podcast. “I think he is going to change some senators’ minds.”
Solomon also predicted that Trump would begin releasing intelligence that he claims was withheld from the public regarding alleged interference in the 2020 presidential election. Those claims of widespread fraud in 2020 were rejected by state and federal officials and dismissed in court rulings across the country.
Dan Bongino had John Solomon on his show today and Solomon made an interesting prediction:
That Trump will soon unveil evidence that foreign powers meddled in the 2020 election, which will result in John Thune ultimately caving on the filibuster and the Save America act will… pic.twitter.com/6kHDJBffef

Shortly after sharing the podcast clip, Trump posted a graphic of himself with beams of white light shooting from his eyes alongside the caption, “I WILL BE THE ONE TO SHUT IT DOWN.”
Despite his victory in the 2024 presidential election, Trump has continued to assert that the 2020 race was “stolen” through widespread fraud — a claim repeatedly rejected by courts and election officials. Out of 64 post-election lawsuits filed by Trump and his allies, 63 were unsuccessful. The sole partial victory in Pennsylvania involved a small number of ballots and did not affect the outcome of the race.
The debate over election integrity has continued into Trump’s current administration. In February 2026, the FBI conducted a raid on an election hub in Fulton County, Georgia, seizing 2020 records. Critics described the move as rooted in debunked fraud allegations.
Trump has also appointed several high-profile figures who have questioned the 2020 results to key roles in his administration, including Kash Patel as FBI Director and Pam Bondi as Attorney General.
In recent remarks, Trump suggested that Republicans should “take over” the voting process in at least 15 jurisdictions, arguing that states function as “agents” of the federal government. Constitutional scholars, however, note that Article I of the Constitution grants states the authority to administer elections.
As the midterms approach, Trump’s renewed focus on election security and alleged past misconduct signals that the issue will remain front and center in national politics — once again setting up a fierce debate over the balance between election integrity and voter access.
