Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds (R) has invited Republican presidential candidates to take part in one-on-one interviews with her next month.

The interviews, also called “Fair-Side Chats,” would take part at the Iowa State Fair in August and serve as an opportunity for voters to not just hear from the GOP candidates regarding political issues, but to get to know them.

“I couldn’t be more excited to host the presidential candidates at our world-class Iowa State Fair, showcasing all we have to offer,” Reynolds told Fox News during an interview Monday morning.

Reynolds explained that these one-on-one interviews would provide the candidates with an “incredible opportunity to share their message directly with Iowans.”

“With just six months to go until the Iowa Caucus, it’s crunch time!” Reynolds said.

It became popular for presidents and presidential candidates to start visiting with Iowa State Fair when the Iowa Caucuses became more well-known in the 1970s, according to the Des Moines Register. This year’s Iowa State Fair will be held from Aug. 10-20, according to the website.

Political lawmakers such as former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R), Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (R), and President Joe Biden have been spotted at the Iowa State Fair.

Kathie Obradovich, an opinion editor with the outlet, said the state fair is an “opportunity for candidates for all types to interact with people” and to show voters “how normal they are and also just have fun.”

Aides for Reynolds confirmed to Fox News that all of the GOP presidential candidates such as former President Donald Trump, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, former Vice President Mike Pence, and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley have all been invited to take part in the one-on-one interviews with Reynolds.

The interviews will be taking part at JR’s South Pork Ranch booth at the fair and are scheduled to take place throughout the duration of the fair, according to Fox News.
