Comedian Rosie O’Donnell, who fled to Ireland to escape President Donald Trump, blamed the president on Sunday for the tragic flash floods in Texas that have left dozens of people dead.

The floods have left at least 90 people dead across six counties, including several children, which has caused mass searches and rescue efforts among federal and local authorities, according to NBC News. O’Donnell claimed on TikTok that Trump’s policies since entering his second term have led these people, including 27 children at an all-girl’s Christian camp, to die.

“When the president guts all of the early warning systems and the weathering forecast abilities of the government, these are the results that we’re going to start see on a daily basis because he has put this country in so much danger by his horrible, horrible decisions and his ridiculously immoral bill that he just signed into law,” O’Donnell said.”As Republicans cheered, as Republicans cheered, people will die as a result and they have started already. Shame on him. Shame on every GOP sycophant who’s listening and following the disastrous decisions of this mentally incapacitated POTUS.”

The heavy waters in the river wiped away cabins and caused several campers to disappear at Camp Mystic in Kerrville, Texas. The events have tragically led to the deaths of 27 campers and counselors, while 11 campers and one counselor remain missing.

The camp said in a statement that it is “grieving the loss” of the victims and is communicating with authorities who are searching for the missing girls.

“Camp Mystic is grieving the loss of 27 campers and counselors following the catastrophic flooding on the Guadalupe River. Our hearts are broken alongside our families that are enduring this unimaginable tragedy. We are praying for them constantly. We have been in communication with local and state authorities who are tirelessly deploying extensive resources to search for our missing girls,” the statement reads.

The youngest girls at the camp slept just 225 feet away from the river when the flood arose, causing the water to rise above 20 feet around 4 a.m. on July 4, according to the New York Post.

Trump signed a disaster declaration on Sunday to authorize federal relief and recovery assistance in the area. The order directed the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to coordinate federal assistance efforts to recover missing people and children.

The president said he expects to visit Texas on Friday to assess the damage caused by the floods.

Like O’Donnell, some anti-Trump individuals have politicized the floods and the campers’ deaths to target the president. A former member of Houston’s Food Insecurity Board got fired for openly accusing society of grieving the deaths because the girls attended a “whites-only girls’ Christian camp.”
