The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) abruptly shuttered an investigation into the Clinton Foundation during the first Trump administration, according to internal IRS memos, emails and related notes reviewed by Just The News.

The whistleblowers, John Moynihan, a retired Drug Enforcement Agency financial crimes analyst, and Larry Doyle, a corporate tax compliance expert, had submitted extensive documentation to the IRS, according to Just The News. The whistleblowers alleged the Clinton Foundation had mishandled funds, mingled personal and charitable finances and possibly engaged in quid pro quo arrangements.

“Can’t talk about the CF,” one IRS agent allegedly stated in a memo, cutting off communication with two whistleblowers who had been working with the agency for months, according to Just The News.

Neither the Clinton Foundation nor the IRS responded to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

Between January and April 2019, the whistleblowers met repeatedly with IRS investigators, presenting detailed evidence, including thumb drives with thousands of pages of documents, charts mapping financial networks and lists of potential witnesses, the outlet reported. But by July 2019, all investigative activity had ground to a halt.

The whistleblowers contend that there is “absolutely no doubt that somebody up the chain of command blocked this pursuit,” Just The News reported. Moynihan and Doyle are currently pursuing two cases in the U.S. Tax Court, arguing they were wrongly denied an award for identifying alleged tax irregularities at the Clinton Foundation.

However, the Trump IRS has recently submitted a motion to dismiss the case.

“In this case, the Whistleblower Office denied petitioners’ claims because the petitioners’ claims were never considered in an IRS action. Here, the Whistleblower Office forwarded petitioners’ claims to a classifier,” the IRS motion to dismiss argued, according to Just The News. “Following the classifiers’ preliminary review, the Classifier declined to forward petitioners’ claims to exam and recommended that it be forwarded to the CI [criminal investigation] division.”

The two whistleblowers submitted 6,000 pages of evidence of the Clinton Foundation’s wrongdoings to the IRS and FBI in 2017, according to The Hill. Their submission also cited an interview conducted with a Clinton Foundation official that quoted the foundation’s chief financial officer as saying he was unable to stop former President Bill Clinton from “commingling” personal business and charitable activities and that he “knows where all the bodies are buried.”

“There is probable cause that the Clinton Foundation has run afoul of IRS rules regarding tax-exempt charitable organizations and has acted inconsistently with its stated purpose,” the men’s 2017 submission alleged, according to The Hill. “The Foundation should be investigated for all of the above-mentioned improprieties. The tax rules, codes, statutes and the rule of law should and must be applied in this case.”

The new report is the latest in a series of bombshell revelations involving the Clintons.

In August, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel released a memo from 2017 detailing the obstruction faced by agents during the 2016 presidential election as they pursued information regarding a corruption scheme involving Hillary Clinton and her family foundation.

Recently declassified documents reveal that U.S. intelligence services acquired information during the 2016 presidential campaign indicating that former President Barack Obama planned to impede an FBI investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server and mishandling of classified information during her tenure as secretary of state. These documents were found in “burn bags” in a recently discovered room at FBI headquarters, according to Patel.
