A White House spokesperson is taking aim at Fox News over a chyron that briefly aired on the network.
On Wednesday, a reporter asked White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about a chyron that appeared on Fox News labeling President Joe Biden a “wannabe dictator.”
“There are probably about 787 million things that I can say about this. That was wrong what we saw last night, but I don’t think I’m going to get into it,” she responded.
When pressed for a comment, Jean-Pierre said, “I think I just commented.”

Her comment appears to be a reference to the amount Fox News had to pay out to Dominion Voting Systems to settle its defamation lawsuit over the network’s coverage of claims the 2020 presidential election was stolen.
In April was revealed the network agreed to pay $787.5 million to settle the lawsuit.
The New York Times notes, “The settlement, one of the largest ever in a defamation case, was the latest extraordinary twist in a case that has been full of remarkable disclosures that exposed the inner workings of the most powerful voice in conservative news.”
On Tuesday night, NBC News’ Natasha Korecki tweeted a picture of a split screen on Fox News.
On the right side of the screen was former President Donald Trump delivering a speech about his indictment for his handling of classified documents. And on the left side of the screen was Biden speaking.
“WANNABE DICTATOR SPEAKS AT THE WHITE HOUSE AFTER HAVING HIS POLITICAL RIVAL ARRESTED,” the full text stated.
In a statement, a Fox News spokesperson said, “The chyron was taken down immediately and was addressed.”
