First Lady Jill Biden and senior White House aides apparently fear the president is doing too much at his age.
Axios published yet another report on the challenges of age facing President Joe Biden.
“President Biden’s reluctance to acknowledge his physical limitations at age 81 is causing some tension on his team, as senior aides and First Lady Jill Biden push him to rest more and be vigilant about his health going into 2024,” Axios’ Alex Thompson wrote.
He added, “Current and former aides say Biden is extraordinarily energetic for his age. But his repeated insistence that he feels so young can draw eye rolls: Some current and former aides believe Biden doesn’t realize how old he can come across.”
Additionally, the report stated current and former aides believe the president “often pushes to do more travel and events than they think he should.”
But haven’t we been told that White House staffers in their 40s struggle to keep up with him?
Haven’t we been sold a message from the media and his allies that Biden is basically the fittest, most energetic, strongest person on the planet, and his age doesn’t matter?
If those things were true, there would be no issue with his age. Heck, Biden would probably have at least another 20 years in him and could return to the Senate post-presidency if he wanted to.
Instead, we see him fall off his bike and on stage, and forced to use the short steps to Air Force One due to concerns he’ll stumble and fall.
We have also seen stories about how Biden doesn’t attend too many events early in the morning, late at night, or on weekends.
As noted above, it would be one thing if Biden was rocking a busy schedule and able to walk without having to have any possible obstruction miles away and completely out of sight.
But if his wife and staff think he’s already doing too much and needs more rest when he potentially has five more years in office and is only going to get older, why do they think he can do the job?
