Annoying leftist and late-night host Jimmy Kimmel has not been funny or relevant since he was riding Adam Carolla’s coattails on “The Man Show.”

Despite that inarguable opinion, Kimmel has never found himself short of work, writers strike notwithstanding.

Indeed, as long as writers are actually working, Kimmel has had his eponymous “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” show to espouse his far-left nonsense, like his undying love for vaccines, or his incessant attacks on conservatives.

In between being a vile leftist mouthpiece on the ABC network (a Disney property — for now) Kimmel often branches out to any number of other acts to keep his schtick relevant. And given the way the far left has its tendrils in everything, it’s never a surprise to see Kimmel’s Cheshire Cat grin hosting events like the Oscars.

So imagine the mild surprise when Kimmel was quietly removed from hosting the L.A. Bowl, a college football bowl game owned and operated by SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

Kimmel, a well-documented sports fan, had been the host of this bowl game the past two years, per a Variety report, and it was known as the “Jimmy Kimmel L.A. Bowl.”

Now? Kimmel just got trucked by arguably the greatest tight end in professional football history, Rob Gronkowski.

The announcement was confirmed by both the L.A. Bowl and Gronkowski himself:

It’s my turn now. HYPED to be the new host of @LABowlGame ??️

“It’s my turn now,” Gronkowski posted to X. “HYPED to be the new host of @LABowlGame. The 2023 #LABowl Hosted By Gronk kicks of Saturday, December 16 at @SoFiStadium!”

The former New England Patriot and Tampa Bay Buccaneer affectionately referred to as “Gronk” confirmed his new gig as well as the official name change from the “Jimmy Kimmel L.A. Bowl” to the “L.A. Bowl Hosted By Gronk.”

Apart from the host and name change, it’s unclear what the longtime NFL star has planned for this bowl game, but one thing is for certain: It’ll probably be better than whatever it is that Kimmel had planned.

Both Kimmel and Gronkowski are overgrown man-children with more fame, notoriety and money than they know what to do with.

But where Kimmel taints that aloofness with leftist sentiments, Gronkowksi has been positively mum about his political leanings — a rarity in today’s polarized world.

Because of that, you can expect dumb, but apolitical, fun from Gronkowski. Compare that to Kimmel, who you know will also provide dumb commentary, but it would be highly partisan and hardly any fun.

Now, there is always the chance that Gronkowski comes out at SoFi Stadium with a rainbow LGBT flag and a Bud Light.

But given his past comments about men and women competing with men and women, only and respectively, that seems unlikely.

As OutKick pointed out in September, Gronkowksi has gone on record to say that transgenderism created unfair advantages in sports and that men should never compete with women.

(In a sign touting his general favorability and affability, there was nary an accusation about “transphobia” when Gronkowski made those remarks.)

Compare that common sense to Kimmel, who often tries to vilify anyone who would dare not kneel at the LGBT altar.

Look, there is always the chance that Gronkowski is every bit the far-leftist that Kimmel is. But we simply don’t know.

And that’s the way it should be when it comes to celebrities.
