Joe Scarborough believes Democrats are “radically disconnected” from the rest of the country.
On Wednesday morning, the “Morning Joe” host declared Democrats are going to have to confront “some realities that they haven’t wanted to confront,” including past U.S.-Mexico border issues, among others.
Scarborough noted 45% of Latino voters backed Donald Trump for president.
“It’s time for the Democrats to take a good, long hard look at how this happened, and if they just say ‘Trump bad, Democrats virtuous’ they’re gonna keep losing,” Scarborough said.
He then called on Democrats to wake up: “This is not about just Donald Trump; this is about the Democratic Party and being radically disconnected from the rest of the country.”

Scarborough also said, “I’ve got to say, this is the biggest red wave I’ve seen since Ronald Reagan’s 49 state victory in 1984. It seems every Republican across the country improved.” He added he was stunned by the outcome, per Mediaite.
“America, first of all, is far more to the Right than any time in our lifetimes,” Scarborough said, continuing: “Even going back to the Reagan years. And Donald Trump won in dominating fashion. But he did that along with other Republican candidates in the Senate races and the House races. They’re likely to dominate all branches of government for the next several years.”
“The scope and scale of this victory is sweeping…This is a Democratic Party that has been just wiped out this morning,” the host said.
Donald Trump was declared the winner in the 2024 presidential election early Wednesday by the Associated Press.
Trump will be returning to the White House after he won Wisconsin, giving him more than the 270 electoral votes needed.
