The American worker is making a comeback—and it’s no coincidence. After four painful years of economic whiplash, runaway inflation, and open-border chaos under the Biden-Harris Administration, there’s finally light at the end of the tunnel.

According to the latest Bureau of Labor Statistics Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey, the number of available jobs surged unexpectedly to 7.39 million in April, up from 7.2 million in March. This is a sign of confidence—a signal from employers that America is, once again, open for business.

The real story here isn’t just the numbers—it’s the why. President Donald J. Trump’s enduring America First economic philosophy is beginning to stabilize the ship Biden nearly sank. His policies and influence are shaping the future. From tax cuts and deregulation to energy independence and strong borders, Trump’s economic legacy is providing the proven blueprint for economic recovery. Businesses are seeing redirection—back to growth, common sense, and putting Americans first. (RELATED: JORGE MARTINEZ: President Trump Is Powering America’s Economic Comeback)

Let’s be clear—the last four years were a disaster for working families. President Joe Biden’s so-called “Bidenomics” experiment was a toxic cocktail of massive government spending, high taxes, and radical Green New Deal policies. The ironically named Inflation Reduction Act did nothing to reduce inflation. Instead, it funneled hundreds of billions into climate activism, corporate subsidies, and IRS expansion—all while grocery bills soared and real wages fell.

The Biden-Harris Administration’s open-border policies flooded the labor market with low-wage competition, undercutting American workers and overloading social services. Since Biden took office, more than 10 million illegal aliens crossed our southern border. That was not immigration. That was an invasion. And American workers, especially in construction, food service, and hospitality, were the ones paying the price.

Contrast this with the Trump administration’s approach. Under President Trump’s first administration, unemployment hit record lows for Hispanics, African Americans, and women. Over 7 million new jobs were created before the pandemic, and energy dominance kept gas prices low while manufacturing remained competitive. His historic tax reform—anchored by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act—put more money in the pockets of working families and small business owners.

These weren’t empty slogans—they were measurable results. And despite the damage inflicted by the Biden White House, America First policies are driving optimism among employers today. That’s why job openings are rising—not because Biden did anything right, but because American businesses are betting on a better future under President Trump.

Consumer confidence and employer investment don’t exist in a vacuum. They are the result of expectations. This year, employers are seeing common-sense policies back in place—where Trump’s promises of lower taxes, border security, energy production, and fair trade deals once again shape the economic landscape.

And the American people agree. Recent polls show that 74% of Hispanic moderates prioritize affordable, reliable energy over climate alarmism. Less than one in five Hispanic voters support gender surgeries and puberty blockers for children. And support for increased police funding and stronger penalties for criminals outpaces opposition by more than 50 percentage points.

These are America First values—and they’re winning.

Make no mistake, these job numbers are not a vindication of Bidenomics. They are a rejection of it. The growing demand for workers, even amid high interest rates and lingering inflation, shows that America is ready to turn the page. And that means embracing the policies that once made our economy the strongest in the world.

The America First Policy Institute laid out a bold agenda to restore prosperity, security, and opportunity. From lowering prescription drug prices to reviving small businesses and reestablishing border control, the roadmap is clear—and achievable.

We don’t need more government handouts. We need more Americans working high-paying, meaningful jobs. We don’t need more regulations. We need more freedom, more innovation, and more leadership that puts Americans—not the global elite—first.

With 7.39 million job openings and growing momentum, we are standing on the brink of a new American renaissance. President Trump showed us what’s possible. Now it’s time to finish the job.
