“The View” co-host Joy Behar is lashing out at George Clooney for calling on President Joe Biden to step aside and let someone else run for president for the Democrats.
During a segment of the show on Thursday, Behar said, “George Clooney, couldn’t you tell him that in person for God’s sake?”
“He has to write an op-ed piece?” she asked indignantly.
Behar then cited a report from the World Bank that she claimed said, “The U.S. economy under Biden is boosting up the entire global economy right now.”
“Why doesn’t George Clooney mention that in his op-ed piece? I’m mad at George Clooney right now,” she added.
Meanwhile, co-host Sunny Hostin chimed in, “I don’t like that George Clooney did this and aired this dirty laundry to the world.”
She added such conversations “should be happening privately…This is the man who saved the soul of our country.”
In a guest essay published by The New York Times, Clooney said, “I love Joe Biden. As a senator. As a vice president and as president. I consider him a friend, and I believe in him. Believe in his character. Believe in his morals. In the last four years, he’s won many of the battles he’s faced.”
“But the one battle he cannot win is the fight against time. None of us can,” he continued. “It’s devastating to say it, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fund-raiser was not the Joe ‘big F-ing deal’ Biden of 2010. He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate.”
Clooney insisted, “Was he tired? Yes. A cold? Maybe. But our party leaders need to stop telling us that 51 million people didn’t see what we just saw.”
