Donald Trump Jr. is launching a gun-rights group aimed at “defending” Second Amendment rights.
A press release read, “Avid outdoorsman and well-known gun rights advocate Donald Trump, Jr., today announced the launch of the Second Amendment Task Force, a non-profit organization dedicated to defending the constitutional right of American citizens to keep and bear arms.”
Trump Jr. said, “The Second Amendment is the whole ballgame; it’s the freedom that protects all of our other freedoms.”
“Unfortunately the Biden Administration and Democrats in Congress are hellbent on eroding our Constitutional right to keep and bear arms, whether it’s nominating radical gun-grabbers to senior positions in the executive branch or pushing anti-gun legislation,” he continued.
Finally, he added, “The Second Amendment Task Force is entirely devoted to ensuring the Left is never successful in disarming American citizens.”
According to Trump Jr., the vision for his group came from working to block President Joe Biden’s nominee to lead the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
“The idea for the group came from our successful effort to stop a radical anti-gun lobbyist from becoming the head of the ATF,” he said.
He continued, “We had to make sure that the American people knew what was going on, especially with Red States Democrats. If they’re considering casting an anti-Second Amendment vote, we’re going to make sure they feel the pain,”
“The new group will help us put more structure and resources around those efforts to make sure we’re as successful as we can be,” Trump Jr. added.
The organization will participate in voter registration efforts and “focus heavily on engaging grassroots activists, like a special ops team of advocates mobilizing to oppose executive or legislative action that curbs the rights of gun owners and families.
Finally, Trump Jr. said, “We’re seeing record numbers of people — minorities, women, people from all walks of life — lawfully arming themselves, especially in Democrat-controlled cities where violence and crime is out of control.”
“We’ve got to make sure every American citizen maintains their God-given, constitutionally protected right to defend themselves and their family. That’s what the Second Amendment Task Force is all about,” he added.
Trump Jr. was recently criticized after he posted a picture of what appeared to be three armed Easter Bunnies.
The caption on the picture read, “Come and take it.”
