A Florida judge has scheduled the first date for the trial involving former President Donald Trump’s handling of classified documents.
Judge Aileen Cannon scheduled the first trial date for Aug. 14, 2023, which is roughly one week before the first 2024 Republican presidential debate.
She also ruled that all pre-trial motions must be filed by July 24.
The Hill notes Trump’s legal team is expected to file legal motions seeking to delay the trial.
Earlier this month, Trump pleaded not guilty to 37 charges over alleged mishandling of classified documents.
