A jury consisting of eight men and four women have started deliberations in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking and racketeering trial.
The jury started to deliberate around 11:30 a.m. ET Monday. Judge Arun Subramanian, who is overseeing the trial, gave the jurors lengthy instructions to follow while deciding a verdict, Fox News reported.
However, about one hour after deliberations started, the jury sent a note to the judge, which said one of the jurors was not able to follow those instructions.
The jury was then asked to state why the juror could not follow the instructions — did the juror not understand the instructions or was not willing to follow them.
After consulting with the prosecution and defense, Subramanian agreed to remind the jurors of their duty to deliberate on a verdict, per NBC News.
The defense added that the jury should continue deliberations and the court can address the issue again if needed. The prosecution noted the court should emphasize to the jury not to disclose anything about deliberations or how voting is going if they explain how the juror is unable to adhere to the guidelines given by the judge.
The trial has lasted seven weeks.
Combs is facing two counts of sex trafficking, two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, and one count of racketeering, NBC News reported. Combs has pleaded not guilty.
