Vice President Kamala Harris was criticized after she shared a photo on Thanksgiving that included a gas stove in the background.
“From our family to yours, happy Thanksgiving,” Harris wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter, with a photo of herself and Second Gentlemen Doug Emhoff.
Harris’ photo was met with a wave of criticism and people calling her out as the Biden Administration and Democratic officials have attempted to crack down on gas stoves.
“I thought gas stoves were bad for the environment,” actor and film producer Kevin Sorbo wrote in a post.

“Is that a gas stove?” Georgia Rep. Mike Collins (R) questioned in a post.
Former Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, an Republican, also gave his thoughts on the photo, asking people if they thought Harris and her husband were “hypocritical” or “that stupid that they didn’t realize it.”
Are they?

“The woman who wants to ban gas stoves uses a gas stove,” Christian singer Sean Feucht wrote. “So dang predictable.”
In February, the Department of Energy (DOE) revealed a proposed rule relating to new standards regarding the regulation of gas stoves and other electric cooktops. If implemented, the proposed standards would not go into effect until 2027 and consumers of gas and electric stoves could save up to $1.7 billion.
The proposed rule would require residential cooktops to have an energy performance standard for the first time.
Democratic New York Gov. Kathy Hochul signed legislation in April that would require residential buildings under seven stories to switch over to electric cooktop appliances by 2026, and taller buildings to finalize the switch by 2029.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has denied President Joe Biden does not support a gas stove ban and clarified that the Consumer Product Safety Commission was also not banning gas stoves.
