Katie Pavlich, a longtime conservative commentator and familiar face on Fox News, is heading to a new home. On Monday, she officially announced her departure from the network to join NewsNation, where she’ll be hosting her own primetime show.

The new program is scheduled to air weeknights at 10 p.m. Eastern Time, replacing the time slot previously held by veteran journalist Ashleigh Banfield. According to NewsNation, Pavlich’s show will focus on major political stories with a strong emphasis on national security, free speech, and other key issues that are shaping headlines across the country.

In a statement released by the network, Pavlich said she’s “honored to join NewsNation during this dynamic period in its development.” She added that she’s excited to take on the opportunity to bring in-depth reporting and analysis to a new audience during an important time in American politics.

Before her move to NewsNation, Pavlich was a regular presence on Fox News for more than a decade. She joined the network in 2013 and quickly became a go-to voice on conservative viewpoints. Many viewers may recognize her from her panel appearances on Outnumbered and frequent co-hosting duties on The Five, Fox’s top-rated news talk program. In addition to those roles, Pavlich often stepped in to guest-host and contributed to major news event coverage.

Pavlich got her start in journalism at Townhall.com, where she served as editor and wrote on a range of political issues. She also contributed to Townhall Magazine and built a reputation in conservative media circles for her straightforward reporting style and deep knowledge of national issues. Her move to NewsNation marks another chapter in a growing career that has already spanned digital media, cable news, and political commentary.

NewsNation, owned by Nexstar Media Group, has been working to expand its lineup and build a name for itself as a more balanced news source, especially at a time when most major networks have leaned heavily into partisan commentary. The network officially rebranded in 2021 after starting as a primetime news block on WGN America. Since then, it has positioned itself as a centrist alternative to networks like Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC.

Over the past year, NewsNation has reported strong audience growth. According to the network, total day viewership rose nearly 50 percent by mid-2025, with even bigger gains — about 67 percent — among viewers in the 25-54 age range, which advertisers tend to value most.

In addition to ratings wins, the network has pulled off some major hiring moves, bringing in well-known names from other networks. Former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo currently hosts a primetime show, while former Fox News correspondent Leland Vittert holds another evening slot. Legal analyst Dan Abrams and outgoing anchor Ashleigh Banfield round out NewsNation’s current evening team.

Now, with Pavlich stepping in for Banfield, the network appears to be betting on her ability to bring in viewers who are looking for fact-based news with a conservative lens. Her presence may also appeal to a wider audience that’s grown tired of the sharp divides in traditional cable news.

Pavlich’s new show is expected to debut in early 2026. Further details on the show’s title and format have not yet been announced. For now, NewsNation says it’s focused on continuing to grow its reach and strengthen its reputation as a destination for serious news coverage with diverse perspectives.
