The Kenosha Police Department has confirmed a substantial number of protesters arrested amid the city’s unrest have been deemed outside agitators.
On Monday, the law enforcement agency took to Facebook with a statement detailing its arrest report. The Kenosha Police Department confirmed a total of 175 people have been arrested between August 24, when protests erupted the day after Jacob Blake’s shooting, and August 30.
Out of the 175 people arrested, 102 of them were confirmed to have physical addresses outside of Kenosha city limits.
Based on the police department’s breakdown of offenses, many of the arrests were deemed curfew violations and “additional charges ranging from carrying concealed weapons, burglary, and possession of controlled substances.”

The Kenosha Police Department’s arrest report comes just days after Kenosha Mayor John Antaramian (D) also pointed to outside agitators for the civil unrest that has erupted in the city.
Over the last seven days, the series of events that have unfolded in Kenosha has been eerily similar to the unrest in Minneapolis, Seattle, Atlanta, Portland, and other cities across the United States.
During an interview with Newsweek, Antaramian confirmed he and local officials have evidence that suggests outside agitators “seem to be the ones who created most of the havoc.”
“What I do know is that we have intercepted cars at different times with individuals coming from the west coast, east coast, Illinois, Wisconsin—just all over the place,” Antaramian told the publication on Friday, adding, “And they seem to be the ones who created most of the havoc, not the people in the city of Kenosha themselves.”
Although tension is still high in the city of Kenosha, Antaramian is focused on moving forward so the city can heal.
“We have to start healing,” he said. “We need to have open dialogue that sometimes will be uncomfortable for people, but we need to start doing it.”
