White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre insists President Joe Biden will go down in history as one of the greatest presidents in history.

Addressing Biden’s decision not to seek re-election, Jean-Pierre said, “This is a very selfless act, something that very few politicians would ever do.”

“President Biden will go down in history as one of the nation’s greatest presidents,” she added.

Jean-Pierre’s comment comes after Biden announced he would end his re-election bid amid growing pressure from his party to drop out.

After Biden’s announcement, Jean-Pierre posted on X, “President Biden will go down in history as one of our greatest Presidents. Accomplishing more in 4 years than many accomplished in 8 years. He is also an honorable man. A decent man. And a person who has always put the country first.”

Working for him has been one of the highest honors of my life and I look forward to working with him to continue to deliver results for the American people through the end of this term.
