Kylie Jenner is sharing how she has decided to keep her personal life more to herself.
During her appearance on Hailey Beiber’s YouTube series, “Who’s in My Bathroom?” Jenner opened up about the downside of social media.
“I think that when I showed my personality too much or shared a little bit too much, people just had more access to say things about the real me,” she said.
Jenner explained that her priorities have changed since becoming a mother. She has a four-year-old daughter named Stormi Webster and an eight-month-old baby boy with rapper Travis Scott. Her son’s name has yet to be announced.
“I think that I just have a different relationship with social media and I think my priorities are just in a different place,” she said on the Halloween-themed episode.
Jenner explained that she has real responsibilities now and in the past, her “whole life” was dedicated to social media.
“I would wake up, I would Snapchat my breakfast, you know, I just can’t do that anymore,” she said.
Continuing, she said, “I think that things get over-analyzed and misconstrued and you kind of just have to accept that.”
Jenner also said that she thinks she has “the toughest skin on the planet” after dealing with judgment from others.
“Cause millions of people have said things about me, decided who I am, that’s not even me. It’s hard to like just swallow that,” she said.
She continued to explain that her “friends and family” know who she is and that is all that matters to her.
Jenner has over 300 million followers on just Instagram alone. In an interview with InStyle in 2021, Jenner spoke about her influence.
“I don’t think an alien would really understand what I do,” she said. “I don’t know how you’d begin to describe what social media is. I’m fully aware of the influence that I have, I try to be a good role model but I mostly just try to be myself.”
