Former NYPD Inspector Paul Mauro said on Fox News Monday that the left was shopping for “easy judges” who will gum up the process to keep illegals in the U.S.
President Donald Trump invoked the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to expedite the deportation of Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang members, but U.S. District Judge James Boasberg from the District of Columbia intervened, issuing an injunction that forced the Trump administration to return two planes carrying gang members to El Salvador. During an appearance on “The Evening Edit,” Mauro criticized the current immigration system, saying that leftist factions manipulate judicial appointments to prolong the stay of illegal immigrants in the United States.
“This is working out right according to [the] plan for Mayorkas and company, because they brought in 20 million unvetted. If even 1% is a criminal element, you’re talking about $200,000, and now the whole gang is forum shopping on the left to make sure they get two easy judges, progressive judges, who are going to go along with their demands,” Mauro said. “And as a result, they’re gumming up the process in order to keep all of these people here.”

The retired officer also criticized the media, particularly CNN, for their coverage of gang leaders and the intelligence gathering process.
“CNN really needs to get their operational legs under them, because first of all, how do they know that there was no intel gathering on that leader, number one? Number two, you don’t flip down, you flip up. This guy is the leader of MS-13,” Mauro said. “He’s not flipping. The best chance you have to get intel out of him is if you send them back to El Salvador. He spends a week in that prison and then says, ‘Hey, let’s cut a deal.’ So they have no idea what they’re talking about.”
Trump enacted multiple executive orders targeting illegal immigration, one of which labeled Mexican drug cartels, TdA, and MS-13 as foreign terrorist organizations. TdA, a notorious gang, has reportedly engaged in seizing control of apartment complexes in Aurora, Colo., in addition to committing kidnappings and murders.
