MeidasTouch, a left-wing media company, announced Saturday it was cutting ties with Michael Cohen just hours after he claimed prosecutors pressured him to curate his testimony against President Donald Trump.
Cohen, who was Trump’s former personal attorney and “fixer” for over a decade, served as a key witness against the president during both civil and criminal cases from 2023 and 2024. Cohen posted his comments to Substack on Friday, writing it was clear prosecutors “were interested only in testimony from me that would enable them to convict” Trump.
“MeidasTouch Network will no longer be producing or carrying the shows Political Beatdown or Mea Culpa with Michael Cohen,” the left-wing company wrote in a Saturday afternoon X post.
“From the time I first began meeting with lawyers from the Manhattan DA’s office and the New York Attorney General’s Office in connection with their investigations of President Trump, and through the trials themselves, I felt pressured and coerced to only provide information and testimony that would satisfy the government’s desire to build the cases against and secure a judgement and convictions against President Trump,” Cohen wrote on his Substack.
“When my testimony was insufficient for a point the prosecution sought to make, prosecutors frequently asked inappropriate leading questions to elicit answers that supported their narrative,” the former Trump lawyer added.
He clarified his revelation was not meant to “defend Donald Trump, nor to relitigate his conduct.”
In a Sunday post to Substack, Cohen responded to MeidasTouch’s decision to drop his content, writing, “My podcasts and shows will continue, but they will no longer air on the network of three brothers I came to call my own.”
“That is not a phrase I use lightly,” Cohen stressed in his post. “Losing that partnership feels like losing family.”
A 2023 civil action against Trump, on which the lawyer testified, was brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James and claimed the president inflated his business assets in to obtain favorable loan terms and insurance. Trump lost the case and was ordered to pay over $350 million plus interest.
The criminal action from 2024, which became commonly known as the Stormy Daniels hush money case, was brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. The case is currently being reconsidered by a lower court.
Cohen is widely regarded as an unreliable witness and has a history of admitting to lying under oath. He pleaded guilty to lying to Congress in 2017 over comments he told the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence about efforts to build a Trump Tower in Moscow. Cohen also testified he was not guilty of tax evasion after he pled guilty to it under oath in 2018.
Trump responded to Cohen’s comments in a Truth Social post Friday, calling the situation a “SET UP.”
“These horrible Radical Left people, doing everything possible to destroy our Country, should pay a big price for this! It was a SET UP from the beginning. New York Courts, with many fair and wonderful Judges, are embarrassed by what has happened! We cannot let this pass,” Trump wrote.
Cohen and MeidasTouch did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
