Journalist Don Lemon is pondering whether X Elon Musk owner felt uncomfortable answering questions because of his race and sexual orientation.
During an interview with journalist Kara Swisher, Lemon discussed the explosion of his deal with for a show on X after he interviewed Musk.
The conversation turned to a claim the former CNN host made that the issue was the X owner not wanting to take questions from “people like me.”
“Some people took it to mean a racial thing. I meant people with a different world view,” Lemon said.
He added, “I didn’t want to go there. Do you think he was uncomfortable sitting in front of a gay Black guy?”

Swisher responded, “Probably more gay than Black.”
While she admitted she did not know, she speculated, “I don’t think he likes control beyond himself. And so, it doesn’t matter who’s exerting it. I don’t think he much likes Joe Biden either.”
The exchange comes as week after Lemon reveal Musk had canceled a “partnership I had with X, which they announced as part of their public commitment to amplifying more diverse voices on their platform.”
“He informed me of his decision hours after an interview I conducted with him on Friday,” Lemon added in a post on Instagram.
After the news of the cancelled deal was made public, Musk wrote on X, “His approach was basically just ‘CNN, but on social media’, which doesn’t work, as evidenced by the fact that CNN is dying. And, instead of it being the real Don Lemon, it was really just Jeff Zucker talking through Don, so lacked authenticity.”

All this said, Lemon/Zucker are…
“All this said, Lemon/Zucker are of course welcome to build their viewership on this platform along with everyone else,” he added.
