Democratic Arizona Rep. Yassamin Ansari repeatedly interrupted former Trump campaign adviser David Urban during a CNN panel Sunday while he was challenging her claim that an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent “murdered” Renee Good.
The congresswoman argued on “State of the Union with Jake Tapper and Dana Bash” an ICE officer committed “murder” Wednesday by fatally shooting Good in Minneapolis. Good seemingly drove a vehicle in the officer’s direction, apparently at her wife’s urging, according to video footage. The officer, who President Donald Trump’s administration argues acted in self-defense, has yet to be charged with any crime.
“Trump is lying to people. [Vice President] JD Vance is lying to people. And through my experience and through what happened in Minneapolis, it’s very clear that ICE is completely out of control,” Ansari told CNN host Jake Tapper. “It’s a rogue, lawless agency that has detained American citizens … and now the worst has happened and that they murdered an American citizen, Renee Nicole Good.”
After Ansari had spoken uninterrupted for over a minute and a half, Tapper invited Urban to respond to the congresswoman’s calling Good’s death a “murder” and for ICE’s funding to be “stripped entirely” by Congress.
“I don’t think rhetoric like this is useful. I think [Democratic Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey’s] rhetoric is despicable. He’s out there saying, ‘F— ICE,’” Urban replied, referring to Frey telling the agency to “Get the fuck out of Minneapolis” on the day of the shooting.

“This is the law in the United States. If you don’t like it, get your colleagues, change the law, bring it up in the Senate,” the Republican strategist continued, before Ansari started interrupted him.
“It’s my turn to talk! He didn’t murder anybody. It’s my turn to talk,” Urban fired back, tapping the table and his chest with the palm of his hand.
Ansari then attempted to interrupt him again.
“It’s my turn to talk,” Urban again asserted. “I was respectful to you. Let me talk.”
The Democrat then appeared to mutter the word “please” under her breath.
“When she [Good] showed up that morning, she weaponized that vehicle. Jake, she could have been standing there with a Glock on her hip; police wouldn’t have fired [at] her. They said, ‘Please get out of the car.’ She didn’t get out of the vehicle,” Urban said. “When she revved the engine and proceeded forward, she weaponized. That officer did not have the hindsight of hours of watching videotape. He had a microsecond make a decision whether to fire or not to fire.”
“Do you think he wanted to end somebody’s life that day?” the strategist asked, referring to the ICE officer. “No, she [Good] made a conscious decision to go there, break the law, protest. And when she did that, she weaponized the car, just like raising a Glock to his head, he had a split-second decision to make to shoot or not to shoot. So I say— ”
Ansari then interrupted Urban a third time.
“She tried to run him over!” the panelist emphasized, trying to speak over the lawmaker.
Ansari, a first-term House Democrat, has emerged as a vocal opponent of the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement policies over the past year.
She made headlines in September 2025 when she referred to illegal immigrants as her “constituents.” She also doubled down when pressed by the Daily Caller News Foundation on the subject, saying she does “not give a shit” about the fact they cannot vote for her. A few months earlier, Ansari was one of four Democrats to stay at a luxury hotel in El Salvador while protesting the deportation of reputed MS-13 gangbanger Kilmar Abrego Garcia.
