President Joe Biden criticized Fox News reporter Peter Doocy for asking him a “lousy question” about his son, Hunter Biden, and his business dealings.
Doocy’s question came days after Devon Archer, Hunter Biden’s former business associate had testified before the House Oversight Committee on July 31, that the then vice-president had been put “on speaker” by his son during business meetings while working at Burisma. Joe Biden was reportedly on speakerphone up to as many as 20 times, according to testimony from Archer.
Archer told the committee Hunter Biden “would sometimes make it apparent that he spoke to his dad, and sometimes he put him on speaker,” according to the transcript released by the House Oversight Committee.
“There’s this testimony now where one of your son’s former business associates is claiming that you were on speakerphone a lot with them, talking business,” Doocy told Joe Biden after an event in New Mexico.

“I never talked business with anybody,” Joe Biden can be heard saying. “I knew you’d have a lousy question.”
Doocy seemed taken back by Joe Biden’s response, asking him, “Why is that a lousy question?”
“Because it’s not true,” Joe Biden told Doocy before he proceeded to walk away.
In addition to providing testimony to the House Oversight Committee that Joe Biden had been placed on speaker phone more than a dozen times by his son during business meetings, Archer confirmed to the committee that the then vice-president had attended two business dinners at Cafe Milano in Washington, D.C.
Joe Biden reportedly attended two separate dinners at Cafe Milano – one in 2014 and one in 2015, with “Hunter Biden’s foreign business associates” who then proceeded to wire money to “Biden associated LLCs,” the committee said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, regarding Archer’s testimony.
Doocy explained during an interview with “Fox and Friends” on Thursday that he had jumped “over a barricade” to get to Joe Biden in order to ask his question.
“At the very end of this event in New Mexico, the president noticed that I was there, near where he was going to exit. I was the last man standing in the press area, he started to wave me over,” Doocy explained. “I thought that that meant that I could just go.”
Doocy said that there had been a staffer next to him telling him that, “the president does not have time for this right now.”
When asked if Doocy thought his question was “lousy,” he said “no.”
“In terms of his rating of my questions to him, that was just middle of the road,” Doocy said. “I understand that he, they don’t want to talk about this. He has spent most of August trying to promote a green economy, he’s been on vacation. They have been taking a strategy where they want the attention to be on the Republican frontrunner. They want the attention to be on Trump in court.”
