Singer Madonna broke her silence after a recent life-threatening health scare put her in the hospital.
On Monday, Madonna, 64, posted an update to her Instagram page and expressed her gratitude to her fans for their “positive energy, prayers and words of healing and encouragement” along with their love.
“I’m on the road to recovery and incredibly grateful for all the blessings in my life,” she wrote.
The Grammy Award winner revealed her “first thought” when waking up in the hospital was her children.
“My second thought was that I did not want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour. I also didn’t want to let down the people who worked tirelessly with me over the last few months to create my show,” she explained.
Furthermore, Madonna admitted she hates “to disappoint anyone.”
“My focus now is my health and getting stronger and I assure you, I’ll be back with you as soon as I can,” she continued.
She informed her fans about her “current plan” to reschedule her tour in North America “and to begin in October in Europe.”
“I couldn’t be more grateful for your care and support,” Madonna concluded.

On June 28, the star’s long-time manager, Gary Oseary, announced she was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) after developing “a serious bacterial infection.”
Page Six reported she was found unresponsive before being taken to the hospital and was “intubated for at least one night before having the tube removed.”
According to an exclusive report from Radar Online, Madonna had to be brought back to life and the overdose reversal drug Narcan was administered to her.
However, in his statement, Oseary revealed, “Her health is improving” and she would be expected to make “a full recovery.”
